The BJS–OSRC session 2026

The BJS–OSRC session, to be held during the conference of the Egyptian Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons on August 26–28, 2026, offers a unique opportunity for researchers from around the world to showcase their work in a high-impact scientific forum.

The five best abstracts will be selected for presentation during the session and will be eligible for publication in BJS or BJS Open. In addition, the best abstract will receive a €1,000 award, recognizing excellence in surgical research.

The winning project may be submitted for publication in BJS or BJS Open. The British Journal of Surgery (BJS) is the leading surgical journal in Europe and continues to expand its global presence through collaborations with surgical societies in low- and middle-income countries, educational initiatives, and prestigious scientific awards, including the BJS Prize for Best Contribution to Surgical Science.

This prize, often described as the “Nobel Prize in Surgery,” was awarded to Henrik Kehlet in 2024 and James Shapiro in 2025, highlighting its significance within the surgical community.

For ambitious researchers seeking international visibility, academic recognition, and collaboration with leading surgical scientists, the BJS–OSRC session is an excellent place to begin.
