OSRC took an active part in the Romanian Society of Surgery Conference held in Iasi in May 2025. Several of our members gave presentations on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in surgery:
- Ionut Negol spoke about using AI to model surgical interventions.
- Alaa El-Hussuna presented data analysis from rectal cancer trials.
- Nuha Yassin and Alaa El-Hussuna also participated in the Masterclass on IBD surgery.
The sessions attracted a strong audience and sparked valuable discussions.
We look forward to next year’s conference, where we hope to see a dedicated session on AI, with contributions from both surgeons and computer scientists.
