Workshop

On the 15-16 October 2021, the first OpenSourceResearch Collaboration workshop for young researchers in low- and middle-income countries will take place in Ankara, Turkey.

During the 2-day workshop, the participants will get the opportunity to gain knowledge and achieve skills in scientific thinking, basic and applied research, statistical analysis and implementation of artificial intelligence and information technology in clinical research.

The workshop is a collaboration between OpenSourceResearch Collaboration and Gazi University in Ankara.

For more information about the workshop, please visit our website.

Special Issue

In collaboration with MIS (Mini-invasive Surgery Journal), OpenSourceResearch collaboration is aiming to produce a special issue on mini-invasive surgery in low- and middle-income countries.

Low- and middle-income countries are developing rapidly. However, the gap between them and developed countries is still huge. In order to minimise this gap and obtain peace and prosperity, collaboration is necessary.

Senior as well as junior researchers are invited to submit their contributions to this special issue.

Submission deadline: 10 February 2022

Global Outreach

OpenSourceResearch Collaboration is aiming to increase its outreach to include students, engineers and experts working with information technologies, artificial intelligence, bioinformatics and other disciplines related to our research interest. This will be done through short video films, OpenSourceResearch Collaboration’s social media platforms, visits to universities and research centres.

If you would like to take part in this outreach campaign, please contact us to choose the targets and coordinate the campaign in your country.

Partnerships and Collaboration

One of the aims of establishing OpenSourceResearch Collaboration is to spread knowledge, help in conducting clinical research, implementation of information technology and artificial intelligence in clinical research. For this reason, we are looking forward to partnerships with other research organisations, academic centres, medical industry, and freelancers working with software development, information technology, biostatistics, artificial intelligence and other related fields.

We would like to have our committee members to help us in contacting and establishing dialogue with the above-mentioned entities. This will strengthen the profile of the organisation as well as our members.

Anyone who is a full member of the OpenSourceResearch Collaboration can represent the organisation when establishing dialogues and partnerships with the above-mentioned entities.

Applying for European and International funds

It is time to grow up! The organisation is one year old in September 2021. We started from a simple research network that used Twitter as a platform to conduct research. Today, we have more than 120 members from different countries around the world, 12 different projects, many research teams working on different studies, active social media networks, an increasing number of partners, eight publications in international journals - among which some are leading surgical journals, and many more achievements.

This could not be done without your thoughts. It is now time to grow up by applying for funds from the European Union and international fronts.
We need the efforts of our members, supporters and partners to help us in raising funds to cover our different research projects, administration costs, and to hire a secretary in the longer run to take care of administration and communication.

If your academic centre can help us in raising funds, we will be happy to coordinate with you on the basis of a win-win working model.

If you want to help in this, please contact us.

Annual Meeting

On September 13th 2021, OpenSourceResearch Collaboration will hold its annual meeting.

In this meeting, members of OpenSourceResearch Collaboration will discuss issues like budget, organisation outreach, raising funds, coordination, collaboration with the medical industry, establishing the research committee and many other relevant issues.

The meeting will be virtual due to the COVID-19 restrictions.
